Your Forum can be customized to create a look and feel unique to your site.
If you don't feel comfortable making the changes, feel free to simply use the
default settings, which already create a professional, high-quality look &
feel. Here, we've described some of the basics you'll need to know to use
your forum.
Accessing Your Forum
To place a link to your new forum on your website, simply add a link to the
following URL:
http://boards.eesite.com/board.cgi?boardset=XXXX
Where the XXXX is the Forum ID Code that you typed in when creating your
Echelon Forum. That will link straight into your new message board.
Moderator Access
Of course, with any public forum, there may be individuals who post rude or
otherwise inappropriate messages. By giving a select group of individuals
"Moderator Powers", they will have access to delete these threads and
messages. To activate moderator access, add:
?admin=YYYY
to the end of the URL while inside your forums
(where YYYY is the Moderator Password).
Administrator Access
A notch higher than Moderators are the Administrators. You should give very
few -- if any -- others administrative access to your message boards.
This access allows an individual to modify the forum look & feel, as well as
add and delete individual message boards. Administrators also have access
to the IP Addresses from which each message originated. To activate Administrator
access, add: ?admin=ZZZZ
to the end of the URL while inside your forums
(where ZZZZ is the Administrator Password).
